These are the words of a teacher whose school invited the Anglican Education Commission to arrange a half-day professional seminar earlier this term on the topic of "A Joined-up Life: Introducing Christian Ethical Thought in a Complicated World."
The presenter of the course, the Rev. Dr. Andrew Cameron is an acknowledged ‘expert' in the field of ethics. He is one of eighteen top-rate professionals who have agreed to conduct staff development day programs in Anglican schools under the aegis of the Anglican Education Commission.
Other teachers at Nowra Anglican College said that Dr Cameron's formal presentations, as well as his off-the cuff responses to lots of curly questions, were ‘eye-opening' for them in terms of Christian ethical thinking and practice.
As a concluding exercise, staff were given copies of the days' newspapers and given ten minutes to find as many stories involving ethical issues, ethical conflicts and ethical problems as they could and to critique them in terms of biblical principles.
This is but one of many such seminars being conducted in Anglican schools on Staff Development Days. Bookings are coming in for the July and October staff development days. For more information on how your school can access these good presenters, click here >>
